Moon Rocks: What Are They and How Do I Get Some?

What You Need to Know About Moon Rocks

Most people who use weed will probably have heard about moon rocks at some point, however surprisingly, they’re still not well known, even though they’re one of the most powerful forms of cannabis to be found anywhere. Cannabis moon rock is sometimes described as cannabis caviar because it is so highly prized. Not exactly a strain, they’re actually nugs of weed. They sometimes take the form of Girl Scout cookies which have been soaked in hash oil before being covered with kief.

What Is The Origin Of Moon Rocks?

Although there is no definitive answer as to the origins of Moon Rocks, many people believe that they came from Kurupt – one time rapper, now marijuana entrepreneur. This theory is probably backed up by the fact that the LA based businessman and artist launched his own line of these tasty treats – “Kurupt’s Moonrock”. On the company’s site, there are claims that Kurupt was indeed their inventor, along with Dr Zodiak, however there are other variations on the theme being sold at dispensaries nationwide.

Where Can I Buy Moon Rocks?

In Colorado, some dispensaries sell varieties of moon rock for the astronomical price of $1,400 per ounce. However if your budget can’t quite stretch to it, or you don’t have a dispensary near you, you could make your own moon rocks in the comfort of your own home.

How To Make Moon Rocks

Making your own moon rocks isn’t as difficult as it sounds, and produces excellent results. You’ll need the following:

  • Kief (also known as pollen)
  • Trichomes – these tiny crystals form on the marijuana plant’s leaves and have a high concentration of cannabinoids
  • Silk screen material to catch the kief
  • Grinder
  • Hash Oil – this is made by a solvent extraction process of hashish and marijuana. It is a resinous, sticky, dark liquid that has a powerful herbal smell.
  • A dropper for dispensing the liquids in small amounts
  • A small brush
  • Tweezers

Break off a bud and, using a dropper, cover it with hash oil. Pick up the bud with its oil coating using tweezers and put it in the kief. Rotate the bud ensuring all sides have been coated evenly. Set aside the bud to try. Once it is dry, smoke it and enjoy.

Smoking Moon Rock

Moon rocks can be used in the same way as ordinary bud. You need to take care not to lose any kief when you break it up for use. That means using a grinder is out. Use a knife instead to chop it up, then roll into a joint, load it into your water pipe or pack it into your bowl – whatever you prefer. In fact, you can even use moon rocks when making edibles. Be sure to take extra care not to waste any since they’re pretty valuable.

You won’t find a stronger form of weed anywhere than moon rocks, and the impressive combination is capable of producing a product that has a percentage of 51.2 THC – enough to blow away even an experienced stoner.
